Congratulations to the not-so-retired Barbara Tomlin

Three cheers for Barbara Tomlin, one of WCEA’s founding partners, for her recent win in the 2022 CANSCAIP Writing for Children Competition. Her manuscript, The Shattering, won the middle-grade category and is now on its way to publishers Annick Press, Kids Can Press, and Scholastic Canada for their consideration.

Barbara began writing for middle grade readers after retiring from WCEA in 2016. We expect that this nod from CANSCAIP—the Canadian Society of Children’s Authors, Illustrators and Performers—won’t be her last.
