Celebrating books that make a difference
This past December, partner Ruth Wilson travelled to St. Paul, Minnesota, to attend the book launch of the first five titles in the Gillette Children’s Healthcare Series, which focus on childhood-acquired physical and neurological conditions. The books are co-published by Gillette Children’s Healthcare Press and Mac Keith Press (UK).
More than 100 people gathered for the event, where speakers included members of the project team, authors, and families who contributed stories of their lived experiences to the books.
The five published books, and four more to be released in 2025 and 2026, reflect the publishers’ strong commitment to worldwide education, not only for healthcare professionals but for the individuals who live with the various conditions and their families who support them. Each book underscores the importance of medical professionals working together with families to provide first-class care.
Ruth led the copy editing and proofreading of all the titles and was a key member of the production team. Partner Audrey McClellan also contributed, expertly indexing every title.
Says Ruth: “The opportunity to collaborate on and contribute to this multi-book project over several years has been a highlight of my 40-plus-year career. It’s a privilege to work alongside a first-class writing and production team under stellar leadership, all of whom are committed to making a difference.”
What a wonderful project, Ruth, and what an achievement on your capable part. 💐💐🥂💫 to you.
