Since 1977, the Canadian Children’s Book Centre has organized and hosted an annual book tour for children’s authors, illustrators, and storytellers.
We’re excited to announce that partner Rowena Rae and her sister, Elspeth, will be presenting at Editors British Columbia’s monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 21. The topic is Writing and Publishing Children’s Books for a Niche Audience, and Rowena and Elspeth will share their experience developing and writing the Meg and Greg series, books for children with language-learning differences.
Elspeth, a literacy teacher, will describe some of the quirks of English that can make reading and spelling a struggle, while Rowena will detail their journey from self-publishing to publishing their series with Orca Book Publishers.
The presentation will be hosted via Zoom and will run from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, with networking after, from 8:30 pm to 9:00 pm. More information on the presentation, including how to register and attend, can be found on Editors British Columbia’s website.
