One of the most common issues we run into as editors is capitalization—starting certain words with a capital letter or using capital letters for entire words.
Summer reading, editorial style
Ah, summer. The longer days, relaxed (or fewer) deadlines, and well-earned vacation time make this the perfect season to catch up on our reading.
One of our go-to blogs for keeping up with the editorial scene is The Editors’ Weekly. Launched in 2012, the official blog of Editors Canada features a new post every Tuesday, usually by a Canadian editor but sometimes by a guest author or other new voice. Partner Lana Okerlund has contributed. So has partner Frances Peck, whose latest post profiles Margery Fee, co-author of the Oxford Guide to Canadian English Usage.
