Keen to go to an editing or plain language conference in 2025? Here’s your guide to what’s on

A few weeks ago, I took a flight from Victoria to Vancouver and my seat partner enthused about Victoria’s many venues and assets as a conference destination. She had just wrapped up a five-day recce with a view to booking events for some of her clients. Regrettably, none of them are editing or plain language organizations, so I won’t be able to welcome any out-of-towners to lovely Victoria for a conference in 2025. Nevertheless, there are many editing and plain language conferences planned this year for other great destinations—across the water in Vancouver, elsewhere in North America, and beyond.

If you’re looking to connect with other word-loving colleagues, meet new friends, learn about the latest happenings in the field, spruce up your skills, or visit a new place, then you’re likely to find a meeting of interest. Most conferences are back to in-person formats, but some online and hybrid options continue to be available. Here are the conferences coming up in 2025, listed chronologically.
