While studying art at university, Louise worked as a graphic artist for a Toronto printing company. There she got her first taste of publishing. Further adventures in a book design studio whetted her appetite for editing, but it was a job with an educational publisher that finally convinced her to pursue another kind of art—that of the well-placed word.
Throughout her career, Louise has specialized in developmental editing, substantive editing, copy editing, proofreading, and writing. Her projects range from government reports, textbooks, academic publications, and children’s books to manuals, investigative reports, websites, and non-fiction works. Louise has also co-written non-fiction books and developed writing skills courses.
In her other lives, Louise is a painter and an urban food gardener.
